Scott A. Fankhouser (born July 1, 1975, in Bismarck, North Dakota) is an American retired goalie in ice hockey. He played in 23 games of the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Atlanta Thrashers between 1999 and 2001. The remainder of his time that ran from 1999 until 2009, was spent in minor leagues, as well as teams from Europe. Following his retirement from hockey, he was an assistant coach with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL and also coached players for the Evansville Thunderbolts of the North American 3 Hockey League for only one season. He is the current manager in charge for the Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville Indiana.
In the off-season Fankhouser was in the market to sign with the Reading Royals of the ECHL however, he was unable to finish a full season with only one team. He also split his time between 19 games with the Arkansas RiverBlades. In 2003/04, the player was able to complete his first full season with a single team since his college days with more than 30 matches in Germany for Bietigheim-Bissingen SC , in Bietigheim-Bissingen SC in the Second Bundesliga.
In the 2004/05 season, Fankhouser made his return the next season to North America, again splitting his season in Toledo Storm and Toledo Storm and a short return to Chicago. Fankhouser made the switch back to Europe following the season the break, this time for the Austrian league with Graz 99ers. Graz 99ers as their number one goalie. He would stay in Austria for the next season, however this time he was playing for the Vienna Capitals.
