Rupert Goold is one of the most popular and richest Theatre Director who was born on February 18, 1972 in Highgate, England, United Kingdom. As of June 1, 2023, Rupert has a net worth approximately $5 Million. He directed the UK premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis’s The Last Days of Judas Iscariot in 2008. This was a radical interpretation of Pirandello’s Six Characters in Search of an Author, which he co-authored along with Ben Power. The production was later transferred to the West End, and it toured the UK, and then Australia. He directed the critically acclaimed West End revival in 2009 of Lionel Bart’s Oliver! Cameron Mackintosh produced the production. Goold re-created Sam Mendes’ direction at London Palladium, where he was nominated three Olivier Awards.

From 2000 to 2005, Goold was the artistic director at Northampton’s Royal and Derngate Theatres. Before that, he was an associate of the Salisbury Playhouse from 1996 to 1997. He is also a director and has written three stage adaptations.
Goold directed Patrick Stewart, whom he had directed previously as Prospero and later in Richard II), as Macbeth in the Minerva Studio production of Macbeth that he presented at Chichester Festival Theatre in May 2007. The production was transferred to the Gielgud Theater in London, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York, and finally to the Lyceum Theater, Broadway, in September 2007. Macbeth was awarded two awards at the 2007 Evening Standard Theatre Awards: Stewart won Best Actor, and Goold won The Sydney Edwards Award as Best Director. Goold was also awarded the 2008 Olivier Award as Best Director. He said he didn’t worry about a career ending. After the Olivier Awards, I returned home to an empty house clutching my award for Best Director. I realized that I had reached my peak. It was going to be downhill from here. It was still a comforting realization that there could be no better. Later, he directed a BBC4 television version of Macbeth that used Soviet-era Russian-type weapons and uniforms.
