Rick Saucedo Biography

Rick Saucedo is one of the most popular and richest Musician who was born on November 20, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Rick Saucedo was born November 20, 1955. He is an actor, singer, songwriter, and Elvis tribute musician.

Rick Saucedo was signed up to play Elvis Presley’s role in the Broadway musical Elvis-The Legend Lives. Assembled with The Jordanaires and D.J. Fontana, Millie Kirkham and many more were joined by The Jordanaires, D.J. There were two acts to the play. Act 1 was a look back at the beginnings of rock & roll, including “The Charleston” (in the Mood). Sun Studio is the setting and young Elvis Presley (Saucedo), enters the stage to begin recording Elvis’ first recording session. The next scene focuses upon The Ed Sullivan Show as well as Elvis’ television performances. The scenes that follow cover the Army Years, Hollywood songs, as well as the ’68 Comeback. Act 1 is over, and Act 2 features a concert performance from the 1970s Elvis era. The play’s title song was “The Legend Lives On”, a tribute song written by Bruce Foster and Doc Pomus, Elvis songwriters. Saucedo composed the music and sang it. This song is his signature tune. The song has been released on 45 vinyl and 8-track as well as cassette, CD, CD, and DVD. Saucedo performed six shows per week during the musical’s five-month run. Opening night was 31 Jan 1978, and closing night was 30 April 1978. Saucedo brought the show to Las Vegas in 1978, and it was a huge success.

Saucedo was first seen playing with The Ambassadors. He remained with The Ambassadors full-time for many years until he began performing music different from The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Saucedo performed his own original music and music of The Beatles in the 1980s with his band, Redwing. When he returned to the Elvis format, Saucedo played with pick-up bands and cycled through other bands. In the 1990s, following the breakup of Redwing, Saucedo played again with The Ambassadors, now called The Fabulous Ambassadors. Saucedo always performed with a band until 1997 when he played a one-month-long engagement in Aruba at the Alhambra Casino. With no band available for the engagement, Rick decided to use backing tracks. Performing each night for one month, Saucedo used backing tracks and showed that he was enjoying them more. Upon returning to the states, Saucedo began entering the stage with no equipment but a microphone and speakers. He had made the switch from band to backing tracks. Saucedo uses tracks everywhere he performs except at fests and theatres. For larger venues, he uses live bands. Since switching to tracks in 1997, Saucedo has cycled among three bands: The Ambassadors, The EAS Band and The Change of Habit Tribute Band. Saucedo played with EAS from the late 90s through 2004. Since 2004, it has been Rick Saucedo and the Change of Habit Tribute Band. In 2004, Saucedo reunited with The Ambassadors for a show and has since performed several times with The Ambassadors. Though at this time Rick performs with the Change of Habit as his band, fans can still find a couple of shows a year with Rick Saucedo and The Ambassadors.

Saucedo played Elvis in the 1989 short film Elvis Stories, written and directed by Ben Stiller and starring John Cusack, Mike Myers, Jeremy Piven, and Andy Dick.

Saucedo has published 21 albums to date. Some of these albums were released on vinyl and made it to cassette. Saucedo began writing original material in 1978 and released it in 1990. Saucedo returned to recording in 2006, with new material after an eight-year hiatus from making an original album. He gathered his most memorable hits using fan input and went back to the original recordings in 2009 to remaster them. Saucedo’s latest projects are based on the country, rockabilly and delta blues influences that eventually led to rock ‘n’ roll.
