In 2011 Jung reached a major milestone with Springstar in which the firm formed a partnership together with Airbnb which is an internet-based marketplace that offers lodging and holiday rentals – to head their efforts in the world to expand the business to 72 countries. Jung took over this rollout, was a full-time airbnb employee and ended Springstar at the end of 2012. After completing his work with airbnb in 2013, Jung joined Houzz – an online community for home decor and professional – to expand the international operation. Jung was born in Heidelberg, Germany, in 1972. He spent the majority of his youth in Hockenheim in the southern part of Germany. Jung later relocated to Karlsruhe in 1992 to pursue the degree of the field of computer science, at Technische Universitat Karlsruhe (University of Karlsruhe). After being as a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Borse Systems AG for a period of one year in 2002 and 2003, Jung started investing in the early stages of Internet and mobile businesses. From 2004 until the year 2010, Jung has invested in and advised including Xing (Germany); StudiVZ (Germany) which was transferred in 2006 to Holtzbrinck during 2006, Adscale (Germany); Beyondtherack (Canada); DeinDeal (Switzerland); KupiVIP (Russia); Brandsclub (Brazil) which was sold to Globo in 2011; Markafoni (Turkey), that was sold the company to MIH during 2011 Spreets (Australia), which was sold to Yahoo at the end of 2011 Brands4Friends (Germany) that was sold the company to eBay during 2011; and Facebook (USA).
