His 1942 novel Pavitar Paapi is his most famous work. In the 1920s, he was detained by the British government for his involvement in the Indian Independence Movement.

His book, Chitta Lahu was translated into Russian in the name of His book, Chitta Lahu, was translated into Russian by the granddaughter of the great Russian novelist, Leo Tolstoy., the great Russian novelist.

Hans Raj was born to a Punjabi family from Pakistan. Dilraj Singh Suri (his grandson) translated Singh’s book Chitta Lahu into English.
