Wentworth was born Marjory Heath on June 3, 1958 at Lynn, Massachusetts, and was raised in the close by Swampscott. The parents of her are John as well as Mary (Tully) Heath. As a young girl she was being in hospitals and out in order to correct the congenital organ abnormalities. Then there was the fact her father John who was a buying representative at Parker Brothers, died of leukemia in her early teens. 14 years old.
She is married filmmaker Peter Wentworth and they have three sons. She was first introduced to her younger brother Jack and wed shortly after they graduated from college on June 27, 1981. The Wentworth family relocated into Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina and resided for a long time from 1989 until the time of their death. After their move, however the hurricane Hugo struck the region hard and the family was unable to stay in their home for nearly a whole year. It was at this period when the third baby was born. The family then moved to the nearby Mount Pleasant in 2004.
When she moved into South Carolina with her husband in 1989, Wentworth began teaching both adults as well as children in the region. She began teaching in 1993. began working as an instructor adjunct for Trident Technical College in North Charleston, South Carolina. Over the years, she taught her “Expressions of Healing” class at Roper Hospital in Charleston. The class is focused on people suffering from cancer. She also is a teacher in The Charleston County School of the Arts as well as the creative writing course located at The Art Institute of Charleston. She also serves as president of the Lowcountry Initiative for the Literary Arts.
