He was enrolled in the Presbyterian Primary and Middle Schools in Mabang in the district of Ahafo-Ano in the Ashanti Region for his primary education. He received his GCE Ordinary Level certificate from Kumasi Academy, and his GCE Advanced level certificate in 1977 at Achimota School. He went on to win two successive parliamentary elections in 2012 and 2016.
